Throughout 2007 I was plagued with recurring, debilitating abdominal cramps. Although I have had them throughout my life (diagnosed as IBS), 2007 was a particularly bad year. In retrospect they were clearly stress-related (there was a lot of upheaval at work at the time), but my doctor decided that a detailed investigation was in order. So I had blood tests, ultrasound scans, a sigmoidoscopy, CT scans and an endoscopy.
