I'm annoyed. What do I pay the gardener for? To mow the lawn, trim the edges, trim the hedge and all the rest of the gardening crap I'm too lazy to do. The hedge at the front has needed trimming for a few weeks, but last time he came (a couple of weeks ago) he just mowed the lawn...and I had to trim the edges of the lawn myself. Never mind, I thought, next time (i.e. today) he'll trim the hedge and do things properly. Did he? Of course not. And it looks like shit. Yes, he mowed the lawns, but did he trim the edges? Of course not. Now I've got to do them myself.
And why doesn't he do these things? Because he spends all his time on the neighbour's gardens and because I'm the last one he visits he hasn't got enough time, so the neighbour's front gardens look nice and mine looks like shit (my back garden still looks OK, though).
The writing was on the wall last year. This year I've had enough. Next year I'll have to do it myself. And I mustn't have a drink because I've had too much recently on account of other shit that's going. But I could really do with one right now.
